German dubs of Sherlock
They were showing “The Great Game” on tv in Germany yesterday. Since I have never seen it in German before I was really horrified. The dubs are awful. They don’t fit the voices of Benedict Cumberbatch and Martin Freeman at all. And the voice of Mycroft is the worst ever.
I kinda wish they would not do dubbing in Germany and work only with subtitles. Not only because of the voices but also because of the awkward use of “Sie”. I am well aware that in English speaking countries there is no formal form of address. However, one would think that two middle-aged guys, living together would talk to each other without using the formal “Sie”.
Maybe it is like this in the translations of the books and short stories as well, but since I have never read them in German either… . In the end it bothered me so much that stopped watching Sherlock in favour of “Smash”.
HA!! For once I dont have to sit through a crappy live stream - Golden Globes will be live on my telly!!! Although I wont watch the German pre-show/red carpet thingy… the ‘reporter’ who usually does that just SUCKS!!! But I can watch it on my TV which makes me very happy!!! Is it January yet???

I am getting so annoyed by people on tumblr, who say that their parents/siblings/boyfriends/girlfriends etc. were not able to remember or pronounce Benedict’s name.
Yes, I get it, his name is a little funny….we all know that!
I personally cannot believe all those people, most of them imho are just trying to be funny.
Trust me…you are not being funny, the joke got old pretty much shortly after his name became known to a wider audience…years ago.
